1. The Monument, built to commemorate the Great Fire which destroyed four-fifths of the City. It stands 202ft tall.
2. The base of the Monument.
3. Guys Hospital and Southwark Towers, looming through the drizzle.
4. St Margaret Pattens, one of Wren's churches, built in 1688. Behind this is Plantation Place.
5 & 6. Heading north up Gracechurch Street, past the junction with Lombard Street.
7. The hustle and bustle of rush hour, as the rain batters down.
8. The NatWest Tower looms overhead, rising 600 feet above the streets.
9. The entrance to 99 Bishopsgate.
10. The wonderfully smooth and shiny cladding on 99 Bishopsgate.
11. 55 Old Broad Street and Dashwood House, a nice pair of midrises that bulk up the density in this area.
12. The entrance to Liverpool Street station and the Broadgate Centre. This view will be massively enhanced in a couple of years when the Broadgate Tower is looming overhead.
13. Through a dark gate, into this little cul-de-sac, hidden away from the main road, an astonishing sight awaits you...
14. Upper floors of T42.
15. The junction with Cornhill.
16. Heading back towards Gracechurch Street.
17. Looking back.
18. The base of 20 Fenchurch Street, one of the first office towers to be built in the City. There are plans for a major redevelopment of this site, which could include something much taller than the current 90m building.
19. St Magnus the Martyr, another of Wren's churches, built in the 1670's. It stands on Fisher's Hill, opposite Monument station.
That's it!
