Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada Photo Tour
Here is another of Ontario's fine small cities, Owen Sound. Owen Sound is located 185 km northwest of Toronto in Grey County and on southern Georgian Bay. Northernmost city on the Niagara Escarpment. The city has a population of 21,000 but during the summer/fall months the city is extremely busy with cottage country and escarpment cottage commuters, it is also quite isolated for a city, being as the nearest city is 115 km to the east, Barrie. It is the smallest market to boast a CHL/OHL hockey team as well. I took all these photos of downtown and the city on a beautiful September day this year.

Farmers Market

Sydenham River

Library

Tom Thomson Art Gallery

Nice homes near downtown

Billy Bishop House, now the Billy Bishop Museum

Cute little park

Pathway along the Sydenham

Gazebo

I love that Coca-Cola mural on the side... CLASSIC.

City Hall

Roxy Theatre Playhouse

Owen Sound Sun-Times Newspaper

Radio Stations!

Post Office/Government Building

Oooh, TACKY!!! That's a NO NO!

Coach's Inn... this is a hotel and bar, btw.

Harbour

Marine and Rail Museum, formerly a train station, until the now-defunct Toronto-Owen Sound railroad was discontinued

Wait a minute... this isn't CHICAGO!

Tallest in Owen Sound, a condo tower, St. Francis Place

Old Courthouse

Harry Lumley Bayshore Center(where the Attack play of the OHL), smallest market with a CHL team.

Looking out at the sound...

Towards Georgian Bay...

Hope you enjoyed my new tour of Owen Sound! Quite the city for its size!>
