My neighbourhood in Berlin - pictures shot today

Hey folks, I just bought a new camera and thought I'd try it out, so I went out and walked around in my neighbourhood and shot these pictures. I covered a very small area, so don't go imagining Berlin is all like this! Actually this neighbourhood was one of the few areas in Berlin that wasn't too affected by the allied bombs. Imagine what Berlin would look like today if it hadn't been bombed... heh. Anyhow, here are the pictures:

Chamissoplatz, just in front of my flat... when the weather is better it is full of kids playing.

My street... guess which is my building, lol.

As you can see here, Germany is at the forefront of car production and design. With this kind of brand new models, they can't go wrong!

Another nice street going down from Chamissoplatz to Bergmannstrasse.

Again, you can see more brand new cars.

Ardnt strasse, another old style street.

Bergmannstrasse is a major street in the neighbourhood, with heaps of nice cafes and bars and fancy shops.

This market hall will soon be converted into a new cinema and shopping mall complex... which sucks, IMO. Berlin is already full of similar places and the shops in the market all are great, offer good products, and it is all much more authentic than one of those cinema complexes that you can find everywhere nowadays. But what can you do when money's involved... the square behind the market hall is not the nicest spot in the neighbourhood.

This big building is... a post office.

Close up of the church... nice building, not very original but notice the contrast between this and the buildings around. This is very frequent in Berlin, where you will have old buildings next to new ones, or old ones that haven't been renovated, etc.

Friesenstrasse, nice street with more shops and stuff.
