My China Tour (Shanghai, Wuxi, Suzhou, Hangzhou)

I recently had a chance to visit the eastern part of China, Shanghai, Wuxi, Suzhou, and Hangzhou. It was a great and memorable trip. China surely has developed much in the past 10 years. There are still some unpleasant sights, but of course, every cities or coutries have those ugly parts.

My Trip (June 30 - July 3, 2005)

At Pudong airport - modern looking airport, but still not that impressive. I would rank it 7.5/10.

First day in Shanghai

Wuxi City - Lake Taihu

Suzhou - Beautiful City. nice mixture of old and new structures. love this city. too bad, didn't stay here that long.

Hangzhou - The old capital city of Song Dynasty - West Lake (Xihu) and surrounded area are beautiful. but the skyline is so-so. The tour guide told me that this city is one of the richest cities in China. nice. Most taxis are Audi and Mercedes

Tea village (Long Jing Cha) - Dragon's well tea?? something like that.

Back to Shanghai-The largest city in China. The skyline in Pudong area totally looks amazing and futuristic. but skyscrapers on the other side are just okay.

View from the Observation Tower

Still many spaces left for constructions

btw, the freeway system in Shanghai is really impressive.
The underwater subway tunnel crossing the river. very fancy.

Farmers' houses (look quite European)
