Some pictures from Cairo, Egypt

Here are some urban pictures of Cairo I took Nov 26th 2005.
It was only a day-trip with a fullbooked schedule (Gizah, Pyramides, Egyptian Museum), so (too bad) there we're no time to check out the city by foot.

Almost all the pictures are taken from inside the bus we went around with. I've tried my best to enhance the blurry and noisy pictures.
Maybe a bit too much I realized afterwards .

Well, yeah here we go.

Morning haze?

Al Fateh Mosque, 130 m

Station square

Houses along the Nile.

Cairo has now surpassed Mexico City as the most polluted city in the world.
Mostly because of all the heavy traffic and old vehicles.

Poor parts of Cairo.

On our way to Gizah and the Pyramides.

The Pyramides were amazing to see in real life, but I skip those pictures.
My purpose was to show you the city, because I haven't seen many pictures from Cairo here.

Back in city center.

The Nile.

Most of Cairo's skyscrapers are located here.

The Egyptian Museum is visible to the right.

Someone said that there are about 700000 people per km2 in the densest parts of Cairo.

Traffic.

Thanks for watching!

Now go and check out Cairo for yourself. It certainly is an interesting city. >
