this house on tatnall street in north wilmington was the home of bob marley back in the late 60's and early 70's. bob marley worked at the chrysler plant on south college avenue in newark, and also worked at one of the dupont factories while he lived in wilmington with his aging mother and several other relavtives. bob marley's extended family still lives in this area, although i am not sure if they still live in this house.

st. patrick's roman catholic church on king street near the brandywine river. this is one of the only churches, if not the only church, in the diocese of wilmington that still does latin masses.

if you look closely at the historic marker, you can see a woman sitting near the lower right on a rock with a parasol over her shoulder. that very same rock that she is sitting on is in the picture. the little "seat" area is at the bottom of the big rock, halfway between the lamppost and the tree.

st. joseph's catholic church on french street. st. joseph's was and still is the central parish for black catholics in wilmington. some black catholics have now moved into the suburbs, but many still live in the city. the diocese of wilmington has a proportionally large black catholic population.
