And an extra big thanks to forumers Szehoong, ZahirNya and Weiaze for hanging out with me--and especially to you Sze for gleefully driving my sorry ass all over town many times over...couldn't have gotten a lot of these pics without you (not to mention that I could probably qualify as a KL tour guide now after all of the info you passed on to me!)
A very FuNkY apartment building
Old decrepit buildings, such as this with the weeds growing out of it scarcely exist anymore:
From the Menara communication tower. Like most observation decks, this was taken from behind thick dirty glass, all that stuff in the background of these pics that looks like pollution really isn't--just a side effect from the glass:
Hey now, look what we have here:
More dirty glass bleaching out my picture:
The two twin towers in this pic are the Times Square towers--mainly an enormous shopping mall (one of many):
Menara Maybank
Back down to earth...well, sort of:
If you didn't know, these towers are a bit on the tall side:
Up close 'n personal. Even the detail in this photo can't come close to how bloody marvelous these bastards look in real life:
As this pic indicates, they actually do touch the sun:
More sun-scraping goodness:
Let's take a momentary break away from the towers and go back to the streets:
Older apartments which will eventually be levelled for more highrises:
More older buildings--I'm sure their days are numbered as well:
...and darkness falls. As I was taking these close ups, prayers were being broadcast over speakers--it was actually a very serene experience:
There were large bats flying around the towers' lights at the time of taking this, unfortunately there isn't any trace of them in the shot:
And from way out:
That hill in the distance with all of the lights on top is the Genting Highlands, which is famous among chinese tourists for its casinos:
Hammer changed his lyrics after test audiences' poor response to "Berhenti! Hammer Time!"
And I leave you with this crap panorama:
Stay tuned for more street scenes, buildings and other KL wackiness in Version II. Until then...>
