West Chester, PA

i was in west chester to coach at a swim meet. it was a perfect day: temperatures around 70º, and not a cloud in the sky. unfortunately, i was inside on a hot and humid pool deck for 11 hours. we did have an hour in between the two sessions, so after i ate lunch, i drove around just to get away from the pool. i only had 20 or 30 minutes left, so i didn't take too many pictures.

west chester is the county seat of chester county. the population of the borough is around 18,000 but the population of chester county is around 450,000. west chester is 15 miles or so from wilmington, and 25 miles or so from philadelphia.

market street, which is also eastbound us route 322. the chester county courthouse is in the background (you can see the spire and the back of the courthouse). west chester's downtown is typical of a town of it's size. there are some small office buildings (5-6 stories) here and there, and many 3 or 4 story buildings that serve as stores, offices, and houses or apartments.
