what i learned most from this trip: it's freaky when you're asked "do you speak english?" in another language.
^ this would be about where the night shots would come in, if they didn't have their own thread...
i love this painting, Gare St. Lazare by Monet, so i stopped in to see the real thing
the weather was shite, so i went to the army museum, and to pay my respects to a short dude
"you'd like it, it's about a prison break..."
guess who's inside?
the weather was still shite...
time for the Centre Pompidou...a place i've long been interested in, thanks to those French classes
not only does it have good art, but good views, too
i was able to sneak this one...
more uncooperative weather left me with the lesser of two panos, je suis désolé...
...so single shots save the day
again, night shots would follow, but they get their own thread.
since the weather was shite and the lines long, i skipped on going up the Eiffel Tower again. a place named "Stalingrad" caught my eye, so i went to check it out...
damn you street lights, damn you
no statues of Stalin, no Red Army soldiers, not even a ppsh...bleh.
at least it gave me the opportunity to ride the el-metro again
LA GRANDE ARCHE!!! LA DEFENSE!!!
it's like the city...of the future!!! in france!
going up
bastards up top only had a small part of the viewing platform open...BAISEZ-VOUS!!!
i don't know their official name...only i saw them on this site a long time ago, the hideously-awesome, ultra-modern skanky snork/smurf towers in Paris; well, i saw 'em, in all their hideous grandeur...
now i need to race back to the hotel so i get my Eurostar voyage...
with a quick stop on the way to see the other arch
invasion!!!
someone's done a good job of tagging w/this cat...i like; see it again in the photos by the Pompidou?
bon voyage
if you ain't seen it, Paris at night
