Central Syndey.1870s

Thanks to Cullwala I was able to find these pictures of Syndey in the 1870s.Just before the city changed from a residential city to one of commerce and department stores with a modern trams and evenutualy an underground railway.

This pic shows Syndey in its last stage of colonialism.Most of the buildings in these shots were second gerneration buildings that wrere built after 1850,when city finished importing convicts and started to look more like a city than a penal settlement.

All these views with expception to the first one(the townhall itself)are from the townhall tower looking South,Nroth,East and West
