Hong Kong is surrounded by a lot of hills. As the bus emerges in the suburb of Shatin from Kowloon, you'll notice just how rugged the terrain is.

These towers are not very abundant around HK. For sure they won't be in the city since all the utilities are buried underground. So even during the most violent thunderstorms, the lights won't even flicker.
