SHANGYU is situated in the northeast of Zhejiang province, It is 60 Km away form Ningbo Harbour to the eastand 65 Km form Hangzhou city.Shangyu has a history more than 2200 years from its establishment as a county in 222 BC.It is the hometown of Dayu,an ancient famous king in China history,and it was named from a historical folklore.Many outstanding ancient people came from here,such as Xie An,the famous ancient general,Wang Chong,the famous ancient materialist,Wei Baiyang,the well-known ancient Taoist,and Xie Lingyun,the outstanding ancient landscape poet,who made great contributions to the splended culture of Shangyu.
